Metro Vision Award

Smart Commute was recognized at the Denver Regional Council of Government’s Metro Vision Awards for our North I-25 Flexible Microtransit Service.

The Metro Vision Awards recognize excellence, innovation, collaboration, and leadership in problem-solving among communities and their partners. Honorees include the programs, projects and plans that bring business leaders, elected officials, community advocates and residents together to accomplish more than any partner could achieve alone.

Smart Commute’s “Wagon Road/144th Avenue FlexRide” has been in operation since late 2019. This FlexRide has some of the best ridership in the region and was the only transit service to increase ridership during COVID-related service cutbacks. The Wagon Road/144th Avenue FlexRide provided, and continues to provide, 7-day-per-week transit service to essential workers.

Smart Commute’s award is a result of active stakeholder collaboration, paired with a longstanding focused vision from our founding Executive Director, Karen Stuart. Smart Commute thanks the major employers at the 144th and I-25 quadrant for their deep involvement as stakeholders, the project manager for her diligence and dedication, and the entire Smart Commute Board of Directors.

All of Smart Commute’s continued good work is a result of our partnerships and memberships. To contribute as a member, contact Carson.
