Before your account can be activated, you will need to download the eBike Library app and complete the account setup requirements. Most participants will need to add an accepted payment method (Credit card, CashApp Pay, Apple Pay, Amazon Pay, or Google Pay). Step 5: Rent, Explore, and Return
Rent an eBike from a participating Smart eHub and return it to a participating Smart eHub location when finished.
Smart Commute uses Tern NBD low-step electric bikes that electrically assist up to 20 mph. These eBikes are compatible for individuals of varying heights and abilities, maximizing accessibility. Each bike comes with a front basket and rear rack.
eBikes are available at participating Smart eHub locations
Rental periods range from one hour up to two weeks, depending on availability and program guidelines. Participants planning to keep an eBike for seven or more days will be asked to indicate that during the checkout. Smart Commute will coordinate any additional accessories and a battery charger needed for longer-term rentals.
Major credit cards are accepted via the eBike Library app. An authorization hold of $380.00 will be placed on the participant’s payment method at checkout. Rental fees may continue to appear in the app while an eBike is checked out; however, participants will only be charged for their actual rental period.
The eBike Library is a managed community program. Requesting access helps Smart Commute verify participant information, prevent fraudulent registrations, and ensure participants receive the correct enrollment and account setup instructions.
